MODI-fication of INDIA

The year 2014 was quite significant one for Indian politics. It saw the return of single party majority at the centre after three decades and rise of a politician without a political surname.

Yes.

On 26th may 2014 Narendra Damodardas Modi took oath as 15th prime minister of India.

To my mind that marked the beginning of INDIA’s MODI-fication.
Let me emphasis that when I say MODI-fication, it’s not same as modification.
Modification is bringing about a change in something. Modification is too big a word to use as of now. India has not changed much in the past one year. So, let me tell you what I mean what MODI-fication is.

The power to simplify solutions to age old problems and solving those using minimum resources is gifted to only a few on this planet.

Well Mr. Modi is definitely one of them!

On 2nd October 2014 the PM launched "Swachh Bharat Mission".
From that point onward I consciously try to drop garbage in the dustbin. I am sure there would be many like me who will think at least twice before littering around.
Also, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was successfully launched to ensure financial inclusion of each and every Indian citizen. Moreover, his "Make in India" campaign is strategically focused to boost Indian manufacturing sector growth. In the near future we would not have to buy "made in china" products with so much intensity.
There are many other policies on similar lines like Digital India program, Shrameva Jayate etc.
Further, Prime Minister, Modi also began working to make Indian economy more business-friendly by reforming the red tape that have hindered the progress of Indian business in the past.
In May 2015, FDI in India reported 61% increase since the previous year owing to the liberalization of FDI policies.

I believe that through these innovative and simple ideas governance has become open, easier and transparent.

Coming to the foreign trips of NaMo often dubbed as vacations.
Let me tell you these are a part of foreign policy objectives to increase India’s soft power and improve bilateral ties.
PM's foreign policy initiatives are helping India to realize its true potential and role on the world's stage.
The 2015 Republic Day saw President Barack Obama visit as a Chief guest of India, a first in the India-USA relation history.

The frequent visits of several other powerful leaders from the developed and developing nations have achieved breakthrough improvements as far as cooperation between India and these nations is concerned.
Other significant foreign initiatives include clearing the way for enclaves exchange agreement with Bangladesh, a successful strategy to contain the threat of infiltration.
Above all Modi influenced the decision to declare 21st June as the ‘International Day of Yoga at the UN.’
All these initiatives are positively changing the global outlook towards India.

But there are always two sides of the same coin.

Like every other politician in power, he is also bound to face some challenges. Some of the major challenges are:
-Issue of bringin back the Black money stashed in foreign accounts.

-Occurrence of hate speeches by his own ministers

-Terrorism is another threat which the Modi government is already perceiving.

-And finally, the biggest of all, issue of financial turnaround.
These apart it has been the year of Modi.

Finally, I would like to conclude this article with a slightly modified quote by Robert Frost (:P)

"Woods are lovely dark and deep but MODI has promises to keep and modify India before he sleeps and modify India before he sleeps."

To Mom, With LOVE: A Celebration of our bond

Yes, I have met God. I know how God looks like and I know what it feels to be with God.
I have seen my God crying for me, laughing with me, fighting for me, playing with me…
MY GOD is my MOM.

Pyaari Maa,

You taught me never to feel lesser than anyone. For you I am the best kid in the world. You were the one who taught me that nothing is impossible for her baby girl, for she is the best.

But today, Sorry Mom! I found something impossible.

I have to admit that repaying you, your love debt is impossible for me. Even if I give you all the years of my life, I will not be able to pay back even a minute fraction of your love.
You have shed more tears than me, when I was in pain.
You have shed even more tears, the tears of happiness and satisfaction, when I was in joy. Such is your LOVE.

I have misbehaved with you, fought with you and even pledged not to talk to you after small fights. But half an hour later it was you who came to me to apologize for MY mistakes.
When I asked you, "why did you apologize?".
You said, "Because it was my mistake".
But deep down, we both knew, you just wanted me to feel satisfied and have a bite of the delicious food you just cooked for me.

This acha baccha is me, my brother is the evil one . Because ek mayaan mei do talwaarein nahi reh sakti :)

You are the only person who has so much patience to listen to my same, uninteresting story again and again and again. You are the one I hurry to whenever I am in trouble.
Mom, you are the purest form of love for me.

I know by this time tears of happiness will be rolling down from your beautiful eyes and you must be waiting to tightly hug me.
But hold on mom. Let me pour my heart out to you.

Mom, I am not as strong as you think. I am so weak that I can’t even breathe without you. I owe my every breath to you and papa. I know, your prayers are behind my every smile.
Just as my 4th grade Mathematics, you are the foundation of all my life concepts. Mom, if you are there, there is nothing in the world that is too difficult for me to achieve.

Mom, I am incomplete without you and there is nothing in the world that can replace you.

Mom, just be with me. Always.

"Maa tum jiyo hazaaron saal
saal ke din hon pachaas hazaar
suraj roz aata rahe, roz gaata rahe
leke kiranon ke mele
palachhin, kaliyaan gin, gin teraa har din
tab tak rangon se khelen
rang jab tak baaki hai bahaaron mein
Maa tum jiyo hazaaron saal
saal ke din hon pachaas hazaar...”

Are we really Being Human?

I always wonder how money can make a person so insensitive that he/she acquire the power to exhaust all the bloody levels of antipathy.

Quite recently and unfortunately, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 shook the earth of Nepal.

On one hand volunteers and army men from the various Countries including India are working day in day out to minimize the loss of life and property in Nepal, whereas on the other hand some business firms are shamelessly leveraging the situation.

According to Lenskart one can celebrate with "Shaking it off like this earthquake" offer by purchasing Vincent Chase sunglasses for Rs 500!!!

Meanwhile, American Swan comes up with an "Earth Shattering Offer".

*As if this was not ENOUGH!*

Troika Consulting moves a step ahead showing their apathy, rather antipathy by offering to hire people for their social media team if they had updated their status online, while evacuating the building during the quake.

How can someone be so misleading as to reward people for updating their status online instead of urging them to save their and others' lives first?

Though LensKart and American Swan apologised for earthquake related promotions after facing criticism, I am unaware of any such news from Troika.

Another recent act depicting the absolute lack of humanity is the case of, presumably the suicide of a farmer named Gajendra Singh.

I personally didn't expect our very own Aam Aadmi Party to scale such Anti-Aam Aadmi heights!
These people carry on with their rally for the so called "FARMERS' Right" absolutely unmoved by the sight of a dead, hanging farmer.
Meanwhile a few people were busy clicking pictures of "The beautiful sight" of a farmer hanging down the tree.

*Absolutely Shameful*

I never thought that the lust of Power and Money will win over Humanity in such a cruel way.
I never thought that people will not only turn a blind eye towards those in misery, but also try and leverage on their situation to earn profit and power.
I never thought the firms adding to our GDP and people leading our society will fall down to this level.

And I never thought but still I am witnessing, right before my eyes, two extreme faces of the same society.

Alas! this situation reminds me of these lines from a famous hindi song:

Dekh tere sansaar ki haalat kya ho gai bhagawaan kitana badal gaya inasaan, kitana badal gaya inasaan

sooraj na badala, chaand na badala, na badala re aasamaan kitana badal gaya inasaan, kitana badal gaya inasaan

dekh tere sansaar ki haalat kya ho gai bhagavaan kitana badal gaya inasaan, kitana badal gaya inasaan sooraj na badala, chaand na badala, na badala re aasamaan kitana badal gaya inasaan, kitana badal gaya inasaan

I urge you all (and of course myself) to be always the one lending a helping hand and Never-Ever even think about leveraging on someone's unfortunate situation. For the sake of basic humanity, at least.

Finally...

"Be the Change you want to see in the World."
